I’m gonna save me some daylight

I just want to say that I love daylight saving time. I love having more sunlight hours after work, when we can all use them. Double daylight saving time might be a bit much for me, but if we kept this schedule year-round it would be fine by me. I don’t mind dark mornings – as someone who was out of the house a little after 6 AM every day to go to high school and whose work day started at 6:30 for many years, I’m used to dark mornings. It’s dark afternoons and dinnertimes that get to me.

Show of hands: Who’s with me on this, and who’s on the other side? Leave a comment and let me know.

Great for blockwalking, bad for the body clock.

I hate it. One of my morning rituals is a quick walk to the park with the dog. I don’t like to do this in the dark. That’s blown for a while now unless I shift my work hours, which puts more of the day in my afternoon energy dip and makes me come home from work later than I like.

I’m not with you. I hate dst.

I love having more daylight after work. My wife Margaret does as well. She hates the fact that it gets dark so early in the winter.

I hate DST. Always have. But then again I like cool rainy weather.

I also get pissed when the weather geeks on TV tell me that we are in for “great weather this weekend.” Really, isn’t “great” a value judgement? Isn’t sunny weather in a period of extended drought actaully “bad” weather? Just tell me if it’s going to be sunny or rainy and let me make up my mind if it’s good weather or not.

    Oh yeah…I still hate DST.
