“Here’s a clever new twist on an old email scam that could serve to make the con far more believable. The message purports to have been sent from a hacker who’s compromised your computer and used your webcam to record a video of you while you were watching porn. The missive threatens to release the video to all your contacts unless you pay a Bitcoin ransom. The new twist? The email now references a real password previously tied to the recipient’s email address.”

The Westworld producers say they know how the show will eventually end. Fingers crossed.

“The final Blockbuster storefront standing is located in Bend, Oregon.”

Spiders use the earth’s electromagnetic field to travel via the air.

“In the case of Brexit, we have (a) an explicitly nonbinding referendum (b) that passed by a hair (c) with the help of a foreign adversary, (d) and is causing tremendous problems. May would be well within her rights to call for a second referendum, perhaps with different options, in order to give British voters a second chance at something that’s going to have a heavy influence on their lives.”

“As anyone who has dealt with an addicted loved one knows, you cannot help them until they hit rock bottom and sincerely ask for help. Until that happens, any aid you give simply enables their addiction. The GOP must also hit rock bottom before decent people should lend a hand.”

“The two ways Russia may have helped Trump steal the election aren’t what you think”.

“Every single one of these actions on Trump’s part are weighted against our allies and in favor of Russia. This cannot be an accident.”

“Two Koch-affiliated groups account for more than one-quarter of the House and Senate advertising from groups that don’t disclose their donors, according to a tally of broadcast ads tracked by Kantar Media’s Campaign Media Analysis Group.”

“No prior president has ever abased himself more abjectly before a tyrant.”

RIP, Anne Baker Cravens, longtime Houstonian and survivor of a German U-boat attack in 1939.

Sports make the world a sadder place. Seriously. We’ve got data.”

“It’s always been obvious that Trump does not hold Russia’s hacking of the 2016 election, which he publicly encouraged and gleefully benefited from, against Putin. None of us yet know the exact contours of Trump’s relationship with Russia, whether Putin is his handler, his co-conspirator or just his hero. But it’s clear that Trump is willing to sell out American democracy for personal gain.”

“Really, any member of Trump’s national security team who doesn’t resign immediately—or perhaps better, offer to testify about any incriminating information they might possess—is from this point on doing a disservice to the United States.”

“After Trump and Putin met in Helsinki, many pundits and politicians struggled to understand what it is they saw, to rationalize it, to explain it away, to speculate on what kinds of kompromat the Russians could have on Trump, when the answer—like infidelity or death—was staring them, us, in the face. Yes, Putin has something on Trump: He helped him win. That’s the kompromat.”

“We all had good reason to suspect in real time that Russia was interfering, and Trump relished it, and even encouraged it, as it happened. Now that Mueller’s indictments have started fleshing out the fuller dimensions of this sabotage and its now-confirmed goal of electing Trump, this can no longer be about guarding appearances of legitimacy, because his current conduct makes that more suspect. The only conceivable explanation is that he was both perfectly happy to benefit from Russian interference and wants to obstruct/or and delegitimize the ferreting out of the truth.”

“Google says it’s not reading your Gmail, except when it does“.

“Text-message reminders are a cheap and effective way to reduce pretrial detention”.

“The discovery was made in Jordan’s Black Desert, where researchers uncovered 24 flatbreads near two ancient fireplaces at a site known as Shubayqa 1. The flatbreads appear to have been made from domesticated cereal grains (wild einkorn) and club-rush tubers. Somewhere, a Paleo-diet enthusiast just fainted.”

“Wyden told Motherboard that installing remote-access software and modems on election equipment ‘is the worst decision for security short of leaving ballot boxes on a Moscow street corner.'”

RIP, Ann Hopkins, plaintiff in landmark gender stereotyping case.

In which the descendants of Colonel Sanders heap scorn on Papa John.

RIP, Constance Adams, pioneer of space architecture.

RIP, Adrian Cronauer, disc jockey whose story inspired the movie Good Morning, Vietnam.

“This is why it’s so important to assume that everything Trump says is a lie. If he says the sky is blue, check it. If he says he had oatmeal for breakfast, check it.”

“No prior president has ever abased himself more abjectly before a tyrant.”

“This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”

    BHO, 2012

The annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation from Ukraine took place in early 2014…..

What no one who is invested in the Trump/Russia fantasy has been able to explain to me is, how does an economically and militarily powerful US, along with more military spending by NATO members, and the solving of long term American problems like North Korea actually help Russia? How does becoming not just energy independent, but an exporter of energy, help Russia? How do better trade deals for the US help Russia? How does protecting gun rights of Americans help Russia?

If I was Russia, I’d prefer an America in recession or depression, one that is disarmed, I’d prefer an America still getting the shaft on trade, prefer an America preoccupied with North Korean missiles flying all the time, and prefer LESS military spending by NATO, not more. If I was Russia, I’d prefer that the US and NATO members take in MORE Muslim refugees, to destabilize those countries, and to bankrupt them with social programs. Trump is not helping Russia in any of those areas.

  2. Jules says:

Lol not even close on BHO.

Russia doesn’t care about gun rights in America, they wanted a fanatical group to funnel money through. They are smart enough to know that any group that has Ted “jailbait” Nugent on the board is not ethical.

Why do you think that this Republican regime won’t slide into recession? How is America doing better on trade for soybean farmers? How is it worse to be bankrupt from social programs than tax cuts for the rich and more military spending?

Are we less preoccupied with North Korea because we are more preoccupied with Iran? Is North Korea blowing off the USs phone calls?

Why wouldn’t Russia want their own asset to be president of the US?

  3. Bill Daniels says:

    Jules,

Let’s say I am your ‘asset.’ What good am I to you if I do stuff that is not in your interest and is actually harmful to you?

    Worst. Asset. EVAR.

According to you, Trump took something from Russia, and so far, Russia is getting even LESS than Jack shit for it. So Russia gets hard ****ed and you are upset about that?

Meanwhile, you mention Iran. When Iran was chanting death to America and hijacking our Navy, where were you? Where was Obama?

Iran’s leader is again spouting off nonsense, and Trump called him out specifically. Note the tweet. Rouhani will die if he keeps talking shit. Note that there have been zero incidents of Iranian harassment of our Navy this year. Compare that with Obama’s record. Now, Trump threw down his own red line about smack talk.

Wanna bet Rouhani had to change his shorts after that tweet? I am quite sure Mattis already has a plan to either kill him directly, or to blow up some of his personal property.

  4. Jules says:

No doubt Putin is often disappointed in his underling.

  5. Bill Daniels says:

    Jules,

What has Putin actually gotten from Trump? Trump sold weapons to Ukraine. Trump sanctioned them for killing the people in London. He very explicitly is trying to derail Russian gas into Germany.

It sounds like the only thing Putin got was the same thing Bernie bros got….the shaft. No refunds, Putin.

  6. Bill Daniels says:

    Jules,

Lookee here, it’s N. Korea dismantling another rocket facility, working diligently to get denuked so the sanctions can be lifted and S. Korean and Japanese investment in N. Korea can begin.

    https://www.38north.org/2018/07/sohae072318/

This is all part of Putin’s master plan to, uh, how, exactly, does this help Putin and Russia again?

  7. Manny Barrera says:

When one resorts to lies or maybe they just don’t really understand, one will not believe that a fist is coming until it hits you in the face.

No invader would think about small arms if they were invading. They kill one of yours you kill a hundred of them and everyone in their family if they are caught. That is how they used to do it. Sherman did not have second thoughts about burning the south nor killing all the buffalo to starve the Native Americans.

Destroying NATO, weakening them, creating conflict among friends, destroying the economy, … what has Russia gotten. The rabbit looks at the small picture to paint with an extremely broad brush.

Since when has calling someone out mattered? Teddy Roosevelt stated speak softly but carry a big stick. Trump yell obscenities and carry a small stick. What have we gotten the North Koreans to do that they were not doing before?

Trump is a lying piece of shit and his fellow liars are the same.

How is the stock market doing? The first year Rump was in office it went up, thanks to Obama. This year it is down and flat. Neither he nor his pieces of manure are bragging about it like they did last year.

Whatever the vast majority of people got back from the deficit busting tax release has been taken back by the rise in the price of gasoline and related products. Who is going to pay for that huge deficit. Yes Obama had one, but Obama ain’t president anymore pieces of shits used to gripe about it all the time where they now?

The No Prior President… was stated by a Republican, a war hero, about a coward and also so called Republican Trump.

    https://www.businesslive.co.za/bd/world/americas/2018-07-17-mccain-on-trump-no-prior-president-has-ever-abased-himself-more-abjectly-before-a-tyrant/

A liar creates a lie to justify an answer, Rabbit that would be you Bill prove your statements.

“What no one who is invested in the Trump/Russia fantasy has been able to explain to me is, how does an economically and militarily powerful US, along with more military spending by NATO members, and the solving of long term American problems like North Korea actually help Russia?” How has North Korea been solved? How are we more economically and military powerful than we were two years ago?

Don’t bother like that piece of Russian shit that sits in the White House you will create lies.

Bill why do you insist in creating falsehoods? Majority of people that voted for Trump were racists and you fit that category perfectly.

Trump is a Russian asset why can’t you believe that Bill, don’t give that bull about where is the proof. You make statements that you can’t prove. Still waiting for you to show me where 2% is required to join NATO, you made that shit up Bill.

  8. Manny Barrera says:

The former Republican Party now the Trump cult has become what this Trump cult member did.

  9. Bill Daniels says:

    Manny,

You have a really bad case of TDS. The only valid and germane point you made is that the stock market seems to be a little flat. I agree. That’s giving businesses time to grow into their optimistic valuations they received by virtue of the PROMISE of Trump, less regulation, lower taxes, and a business friendly environment. You’re being disingenuous when you say that is all Obama legacy. Obama’s legacy was most definitely NOT business friendly. DAPL and Keystone ring a bell? Those jobs aren’t coming back ring a bell? They can have their coal mine, but I’ll make sure they don’t make any money on it ring a bell?

I get that you hate Trump, but you are in a persistent blind rage that prevents you from looking at things objectively. Most people see N. Korea not lobbing missiles and dismantling missile sites as a good thing. You, on the other hand, can do nothing but scream at the sky, spittle flying from your mouth, as you curse the [insert bs slur] Drumpf Cheeto, merely for existing.

You have failed to dispute my basic point, which is, if Trump is a Russian asset, as you claim, he’s got to be the absolute shittiest Russian asset ever, because everything he is doing is NOT in Russia’s best interest, or Putin’s best interest.

But please, keep shouting racism, etc. It’s really all anyone expects from you at this point.

  10. Bill Daniels says:

    Manny,

I want to address this, specifically:

“No invader would think about small arms if they were invading. They kill one of yours you kill a hundred of them and everyone in their family if they are caught. That is how they used to do it. Sherman did not have second thoughts about burning the south nor killing all the buffalo to starve the Native Americans.”

Do you remember a little fiasco called Vietnam? The combined might of the US military and others couldn’t defeat shoeless, illiterate 3rd Worlders with rusty AK’s. How about Afghanistan? Alexander the Great couldn’t take Afghanistan. The Soviet Union couldn’t do it. After 17 years, the US can’t do it either, and our enemy is mainly using small arms and IED’s. You are grossly underestimating what a determined indigenous population can accomplish with small arms.

  11. Manny Barrera says:

Bill there you go again with creating facts,

    1) we did not kill thousands not even one person for retribution

    2) the Vietcong were well armed by the Russians – https://www.quora.com/During-the-Vietnam-War-where-was-North-Vietnam-getting-all-their-military-supplies-from

But look at number one for the main reason, Germany did what 1 suggests,

    3) most people want to live and don’t care who runs the country, haven’t you figured that out, only people at the top care who runs the country. Why did the US have to resort to drafting people if they cared so much about stopping Hitler in WWII? They had to draft people for Korea and Vietnam also. If a major war started they would have to that again. Just let me live is what most people worry about.

Bill maybe a lack of history and ignorance is your main problem.

    4) the little acts of killing by small arms is not what drove the US out, the Vietcong had major offenses with heavy weapons

    https://www.history.com/topics/vietnam-war/tet-offensive

  12. Manny Barrera says:

Bill we can’t win wars if we don’t kill innocent people (Civilians) land wars and control the country. That is something all successful conquerors have done. We fire bombed German cities and dropped two bombs on Japan wiping out entire cities.
