Hey, remember when Donald Trump claimed to be a champion of LGBT rights?

So many things to investigate, so much need to take the House majority back to do them.

“Why is a congressman from Iowa weighing in on local politics in another country? Because there’s an outright white nationalist running for mayor in Toronto, and wherever an explicit white nationalist is running for office — in the U.S., in Canada, in Austria or France — Steve King feels compelled to lend his support.”

Regarding Trump and the GBLT’ers, Trump IS a champion for them, inasmuch as US citizens who are GBLT are benefiting from his leadership and policies…..just like every other American. The article mentions the Orlando nightclub shooting. Trump has done more than any president in recent memory to keep out violent Muslims who would like nothing better than to repeat that slaughter on other GBLT’ers. Trump’s law and order policies, cracking down on gangs and illegals makes GBLT’ers safer….just as it makes non-GBLT Americans safer.

Trump is doing more for these people by treating them not as victims, but as American citizens, than any pandering by other presidents might have done. He asks them, “what can you do,” instead of, “what group do you belong to?. Trump was the first president to enter office supporting gay marriage, something I also support as a matter of fairness.

But OK, let’s talk about the ‘big’ issue…..transgender in the military. Depending on who you listen to, transgender is either a medical problem, or a mental problem. Let’s go with the “it’s a medical problem” theory. OK, then, that’s just one of many medical problems that would preclude one from military service, like diabetes, heart problems, or bone spurs. Nobody is saying Trump is anti-diabetes patient because diabetics can’t join the military, it is what it is.

Let’s talk about the other big issue, Mike Pence. Pence was added to the ticket to make sure evangelicals came out for Trump. Pence isn’t dictating ANY policy positions from second chair. Even if I agree that Pence would try to enact policy to hurt GBLT’ers, he doesn’t have that power, so this also is a dead issue.
