The new Planned Parenthood

One of the reasons cited for that silly “boycott Houston” campaign is the new Planned Parenthood building on the Gulf Freeway. Having been a clinic escort at the Fannin location many years ago, back when the entrance was right off the sidewalk on Berry Street and you had to run a gamut of idiots screaming at you to get in, I’m delighted to hear that the new location will not only have a secured entrance but a secured parking lot as well, thus eliminating that unpleasant experience all together. I suppose nothing will stop the truly unhinged from trying to impose their will on others, but the harder it is for them to do so, the better. Read more about the new building here and here, and why we need it here and here.

Finally, a MUCH needed new location. I am so happy for them. I just home I’ll still have an opportunity to volunteer.
