Weekend link dump for March 28

Judicial activism, Oklahoma-style.

The next round of Democratic primaries, this year and in 2012, will be something to see.

In case you somehow missed David Frum’s Waterloo article.

All hail Nancy Pelosi.

And let’s not forget the debt we owe to Mitch McConnell for his tactical brilliance.

Mike Tyson, pigeon racing, and PETA. What could possibly go wrong?

Yeah, because they had been so amazingly cooperative up till now.

Americans continue to drive less.

Sunny day, whatever.

Tom DeLay has a cousin in Arkansas. Named “Gunner”. Who’s running for Congress. Do I really need to say any more? (Thanks, Juanita!)

How small a space could the US population be fit in?

I for one would be happy to help Rush pack his bags.

Play Glenn Beck bingo!

If Sen. Jim DeMint weren’t such a tool, I might feel a little sorry for him. Just a little.

How Google tracks suspicious account activity.

I have some issues with Bill Simmons, mostly because he was such an incredible wimp about the weather while here during Super Bowl XXXVIII, but I certainly don’t begrudge him his success.

Vote for the 2010 Name Of The Year.

Aren’t they all?

Letters from Rick.

You like it! You really like it!

Tom Toles predicts the future. Chuck Grassley makes it happen today.

Eric Cantor is a big ol’ liar.

You tell ’em, Rachel.

The idiotic third-party fantasy never dies.

M1EK visits Houston and rides the light rail line. Which he likes a lot.

More of this, please.

Thanks, Charles. I expected to like it a lot; just hadn’t had a chance to ride it in person. You can get a pretty good sense these days just by looking at maps and google streetview how a rail line is going to operate on a given corridor.

    Charles,

Regarding Cantor, as much of a punk as he is, I don’t think it’s quite fair to call him a liar. Given the events last week, without knowing it was a random shot fired in town, it would be reasonable for him to jump to the conclusion that he was targeted.

And then there’s this from today – Man Charged With Threatening To Kill Rep. Eric Cantor

    Just saying.

  3. Patrick, the explanation that Rep. Cantor has since given is that he didn’t actually have all the facts before he made the charge that he too was a victim of political violence. And it turns out that it wasn’t his campaign office that had the bullet hit it. Maybe “liar” is a strong word here, but he was pretty darned careless about the truth.

As for your second point, the guy in question is apparently a real nutjob. Whatever the case there, I fully agree that his behavior should not be tolerated at all.

PS: I saw you profiled in the Press while I was there – congratulations!
