Selena, ten years after

Ten years ago today, Tejano music sensation Selena Quintanilla Perez was murdered by the manager of her fan club, whom the singer had accused of embezzling funds. Here’s a sample of coverage of the anniversary of her death:

    I was just a little girl when selena died and know im 18 years old. Im not mexican or even spanish. I am brazilian but ive grown up in the mexican cilture because i have some family members by marriage who are mexican and my boy friend and friends are mexican.I have been listening to Selena since i was little girl and now she is all i listen to. She was truly and insperation and romodel to many young girls and even woman and ofcourse me.Selena you truly are an angel from god and youll never be forgoten may you rest peace.

    I wasn’t even born when you were shot to death. But i have heard a lot about you… and i love you music your amazing if you were still alive i would look up to you. You have a great voice. It’s just to bad you had to die.. you are missed by many and it will always be that way.

    sence she has gone a lot has canged. i wasint born wene she died. i will alwas remember selena in my hart. she sings so good i wish she was still here today. im so sorry to her famley and friends also fans.

    Just finished watching the movie… again… Never fails to grip my heart… such an incredibly devastating loss to the art of music, the spanish-american culture… and her dear family… my tears are with them…

    Selena was the best singer and you will always be remembered by everyone. Eventhough I wasnt born when you were shot to death I have heard a lot about you and you have an amazing voice. I miss you a lot.

    Hi selena I will always remember you I was only a year old when you died and I still remember when my mom put on your music and we would sing your songs and we would go to your cocerts bie Selena!

    I was 6 yrs. old when you died and it was hard for me to hear you were shot to death… I used to sing along to your voice on stage. I will always remember you in my heart. Rest in peace and hope to meet you in heaven someday.
