Apparently, I was featured on the “Inside the Blogs” feature of CNN’s Inside Politics yesterday. Here’s CNN’s Jacki Schechner:
On the other side of the political spectrum, before we run out of time here, we go over to Off the Cuff for the latest in the DeLay barrage. That is Charles Cuffner (ph) at offthecuff.com. He calls it his “Tour DeLay.” He’s got a list of news articles talking about House Majority Leader Tom DeLay and the latest going on with regard to him.
*sigh* Fame is a harsh mistress. I guess I could register offthecuff.com, but someone else already owns it. Out of curiosity, I Googled “off the cuff” and found these three bloggers, a public radio show, and a collegiate columnist. On the plus side, my site was listed before all of them. So I have that going for me, which is nice.
Congrats, Chuck! Between CNN and ODB, they’ll eventually get the moniker correct. Which will be nice…
That’s OK, Kuff… People still think I’m the webmistress of Barbie’s home page, http://www.inthepink.com.
(Insert generic rant about the quality of transcribers in broadcasting here)
Congratulations… I think. Must be a trip to hear your name mentioned on a big network, even if they can’t quite spell it right in the transcript.
Show of hands: How many of you remember this blog’s analog predecessor in The Trinitonian? To think, we knew him when…
Congratulations, Chuck!
I was going to recite the words to the theme from “Fame”, but the words “baby, remember my name” wouldn’t work here, would it? 🙂
By the way, off topic, I think you might be interested in the reports over the last few days in the New York Post of a sex scandal involving two seperate incidents of female staff members and male students. The school in question is the High School of Health Professions and Human Services.
The address of the school is 345 East 15th Street.
Thanks, everyone!
For those of you wondering about William’s comment, the address he listed is the former location of our alma mater, Stuyvesant High School. Putting the words “sex scandal” anywhere near a mention of Stuy is more than enough to boggle this old alum’s mind.
What’s even more boggling is the visual of my guidance counselor, Dr. Ben Strudler (who probably won the Burl Ives Look-A-Like Contest) being anywhere near a sex scandal.
I won’t even begin to consider a visual of any of the female staff from the early 1980s being involved in a sex scandal with any of the students. I have heard, however, from some female alumnae that there was a lot of sexual harrasment from male teachers.
Congrats, sir.
If it makes you feel any better, knocking off a 22 year incumbant by an election contested 32 votes still won’t get people to properly pronounce your name.
Just last night, a high ranking city official introduced me as “He worked for Herbert Vu.”
Hell, all they missed on your’s was a letter!
“you da man”
It’s ok. I think CNNFN interviewed Ezra Klein before the convention last year and thought that it was me at first. And another time recently I was quoted somewhere as the BurntOrangeReview.com. They’ll figure us out eventually *sigh*
I have dated two girls from styvesant over the past 10 years and they have both told me that they were approached/proposioned by a math teacher. The crazy thing is neither knew each other and both gave very similar stories. To boot, a male friend of mine said that when he was at styvesant there were often such conversations.
