It must be a slow day around here, because I’m just unaccountably amused by the following comment at Jack‘s place:
Cragg Hines is the Godzilla of liberalism at the Chronicle.
That was intended as an insult to Hines by the commenter, but it just makes me giggle. I figure if Hines is the Godzilla of liberalism at the Chron, that must mean that Clay Robison is the Mothra of Liberalism, and maybe Rick Casey is the Rodan of Liberalism. If anyone from the Chron is reading this, I’ll let you fight it out over who gets to be the Smog Monster, Gamera, Ghidrah, and any of the other classic creatures. If anyone else wants to apply this concept to bloggers, knock yourselves out in the comments.
Clay Robison is definitely NOT Mothra. He could be Battra, though.
Can I be the Ultraman on Swanky Conservatism?
And I typo’d. That should be “of” Swanky Conservatism. *sigh*
It was the American Godzilla, ‘Reptilicus’, who left an impression on me (way back when theatres still had “cry rooms”).
Reptilicus’ primary weapon was his inability to die. Every time the Army would blast him with a cannon or blow him up with a bomb, the dismembered pieces — arms, legs, tail — would regenerate a new Reptilicus in short order.
For some reason this makes me think of the permutated spawn of Chronically Biased: LST, blogHOUSTON, etc.
I understand the creatures of bH prefer to think of themselves as a coven, however…
Some day I aspire to be the Mecha King Ghidora of Democracy!!!
