Harry Potter is in the house

The good news: Our copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince arrived yesterday from Amazon UK.

The bad news: Tiffany got to it first, so I have to wait until she’s done reading it.

The good news: She’s a really fast reader.

The bad news: Neither of us has much free time for reading these days.

So, the ban on telling me anything about this book will please continue until I say otherwise. I thank you for your indulgence in the matter. In the meantime, if you want to discuss something Potter-related here, try this US News article on how the Potter books are (slowly) helping to arrest a trend of not reading by kids.

    Two questions come to mind:

    1. Why didn’t you buy two copies? 🙂

    2. Am I the only that thinks of the recent Wrigley Gum commercial with that “Sharing is Caring” song? 🙂

(Those of you that know that commercial can appreciate where I’m going with that.)

Dumb question, but why did you order it from Amazon in England, rather than in the US?

  3. William Hughes says:

    Ellen,

The US version of the Harry Potter books are use the American version of English, whereas the UK version is unedited, thus for some, more authentic.

  4. Actually, it’s because Tiffany prefers the British editions. That’s what we’ve ordered all along.
