Endorsement season begins

The Dallas Morning News is first out of the gate with a Sunday slate of endorsements for the non-Governor, non-Senator statewide races. (All Republicans, of course, but then what did you expect?) How many days will elapse before the Chronicle remembers that there are elections going on and that they, too, need to contemplate making recommendations? I’ll put the over/under at three weeks, which means October 1. Any takers?

    I’ll take the over with one (notable) exception.

    CD-22. I expect the Lampson endorsement to come out any day now.

    As for the rest?

    One day to one week AFTER early voting starts. That’s been the pattern.

    You should set up a “Pick the endorsement” game for Mrs. White, just for fun.

    My picks are as follows:

    Gov.: Perry
    Lite Gov: Dewhurst
    AG: Abbott
    Harris County Treas: Garcia (so she can be both to the LEFT and RIGHT you know)
