Dear Friend,
We are pleased to announce our 2010 Campaign Kick-Off Event with special guest, Paul Begala. Join your fellow elected officials, Democratic candidates and HCDP for this exciting opportunity to meet one of the Democratic Party’s most respected voices in the flesh.
Noted political strategist, humorist, and commentator Paul Begala will be the keynote speaker. It’s a night of politics, pundits, and beer at the new St. Arnold’s Brewery as we energize Democrats from across Harris County for the November election.
A native Texan, Paul Begala has deep roots in the Lone Star state, earning his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas, where he taught before his work at the White House. Begala was formerly co-host of Crossfire, CNN’s political debate program. He first entered the national political scene after his consulting firm, Carville & Begala, helped to elect President Bill Clinton in 1992. Serving in the Clinton administration as counselor to the President, he defined and defended the administration’s agenda and served as the principal public spokesman. Begala also helped John F. Kennedy, Jr. launch George magazine, where he served as a contributing editor and wrote the “Capital Hillbilly” column. He has written numerous articles and op-eds for numerous publications. After leaving the Clinton administration, Begala joined Georgetown University’s staff as a research professor of government and public policy.
We hope you will join us for what promises to be a thrilling event as we celebrate the kick-off of the 2010 election cycle. Your ticket includes Paul Begala, access to the open bar, and light snacks and the kind of entertainment that only Democrats in Harris County can provide. Tickets are $40 per guest— get yours today!
We hope to see you there!
