Give Rasmussen credit, they don’t waste any time.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Texas finds Perry leading White, the popular former mayor of Houston, by just six points, 49% to 43%. Three percent (3%) opt for some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.
Late last month, Perry led White 47% to 41%, after leading by nine points earlier in February. Just after White first announced his candidacy in January, he trailed Perry 50% to 40%.
Perry holds an eight-point lead among men in Texas but leads by just four points among women. Voters not affiliated with either major party favor Perry 46% to 40%.
Not much movement for either candidate, but then there wasn’t much room for either of them to go anyway. This is one data point, and given that the race is being rated as a tossup by Charlie Cook, I’m sure we’ll get plenty more of them. Thanks to the Trib for the link.
