Surely you didn’t expect me to have ten songs that start with the letter X, did you? Well, I do happen to have ten songs that start with “EX”, and that will have to do.
1. Exactly Like You – Hot Club of Cowtown
2. Excerpt – Chris Whitley
3. Excitable Boy – Jackson Browne and Warren Zevon
4. Excursion Around The Bay – Great Big Sea
5. Excuse Me – Peter Gabriel
6. Excuse Me, I Think I’ve Got A Heartache – CAKE
7. Express Yourself – Madonna
8. Expresso Love – Dire Straits
9. Extraordinary Girl – Green Day
10. The Extremist – Joe Satriani
For the record, I have exactly three songs that do start with the letter X:
X Offender – Blondie
Xmas In Jail – Asleep at the Wheel
Xmas Time For Visa – Austin Lounge Lizards
I don’t really consider the latter two to be legit, because the word “Xmas” is never used in the song; the refrain for each, which uses the song title, uses “Christmas” in its place. And one song does not a list make. What exceptional things are on your iPod this week?
Entire song list report: Started with “HoJo’s On Waukegan”, by Eddie From Ohio. Finished with “How I Taught Myself To Scream”, by Los Campesinos, song #2088. That’s 76 songs this week, which is a bit less than last week. It was one of those weeks.
Ripping vinyl report: No vinyl ripped in the last seven days. Like I said, it was one of those weeks. Maybe next time.
Two. Two!
Exit – U2
Expecting To Fly – Buffalo Springfield
