No Neil Diamond on this list? Sadness 🙁
About the time the Iraq War got rolling I decided that one of the greatest predictors of political affiliation was whether you preferred Neil Diamond’s “America” or Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA”. With the rise of the Tea Party and the increase in xenophobia, I think it’s even more true today.
Yep, Buhalin’s correct. Those two songs serve as Best Cultural Identifer, Musical Category.
No “Horse with no Name” or “Ventura Highway” by the group America, huh?
Sorry, I don’t have any Neil Diamond in my collection. You’re right about the cultural identifier, though I think there’s probably a third dimension in there for “This Land Is Your Land”. I do have “A Horse With No Name”, but was just sticking with song titles for the theme.
I understood the theme, I was just being a wiseguy. Habit.
