From the Harris County Clerk:
Early Voting for the upcoming November 3, 2015 Election starts Monday, Oct. 19 and runs through Friday, Oct. 30. There are 41 Harris County Early Voting locations, some of which have changed. The Houston Community College (HCC) Northeast Campus, the Alief Administration Building, the Riley Chambers Community Center in Crosby and the John Phelps Courthouse in Pasadena will serve as new Harris County early voting locations.
“Voters should be aware that new Early Voting and Election Day polling locations are established only if previously used facilities are not available, if there is an opportunity to establish a better location, or if a change is mandated by law,” noted Stan Stanart, the chief election official of the county. “Finding facilities to use as early voting locations is always challenging; however, we are committed to doing everything possible to relieve voter traffic at high turnout voting locations, to fill in gaps in growing parts of the county and to ensure citizens have easier and more access to early voting.”
According to Stanart, for this election, the changes are due to the fact that the usual early voting sites in Pasadena and Alief are temporarily unavailable; the location in Crosby is no longer available; and the location in east Houston was moved from a small municipal library to a Houston Community College campus to improve accessibility. The new early voting location at the college campus supplants the location in Galena Park which historically has been the least utilized early voting site in the county. The HCC-NE campus is situated where two of Houston’s most travelled arteries converge, Interstate 10 East, Mercury Dr. exit and the 610 East Loop Frwy, Gellhorn Dr. exit. “The HCC Northeast campus affords more early voting access to residents of the Channelview, Cloverleaf, Denver Harbor, Galena Park, Port of Houston, Jacinto City, Sheldon Rd and other areas along I-10 East corridor. The campus is spacious and provides plenty of parking,” added Stanart.
“I encourage all voters to take advantage of the opportunity to vote early during this election cycle,” concluded Stanart. “Remember, a Harris County registered voter can vote at any one of the county’s early voting locations during the early voting period. If one waits until Election Day to vote, they must vote at the location their precinct is assigned for Election Day.”
To obtain an early voting schedule, view one’s personal sample ballot, review the list of acceptable forms of photo identification to vote at the poll, or to find early voting and Election Day locations, voters can visit www.HarrisVotes.com. Here’s a map of early voting locations, with times. I’ll be keeping track of the daily totals, and comparing them to the 2013 totals as needed. This is where the rubber meets the road. Get out there and vote, y’all.
Folks ,there are 2.2 million people in Houston Texas and only one of them have the ability to end Houstons current taxi permit model of right to labor fees that are causing a choke hold on houstonians that have rejected right to labor fees in their hired Taxi transportation by swithcing to a less restrictive right to labor fee model under the uber model, however to date under mayor parker it is still illegal for any citizen to hire transportation unless they pay right to labor fees in the fare and thats unfair and unjust and has no place in houston Texas, please DEMAND, Mayor Parker to take a public stand against right to labor fees in Houston Tx, by asking her to sign an executive order abolishing all limits on taxi permits in Houston Tx, Because in Houston ,No person should have to pay for the right to work.
