My other main source of music for 2015 was Noisetrade. I’m not sure how they got my email address in the first place – oddly, they got my secondary address, not my main one – but I have been a regular if not frequent downloader of their music for the past couple of years. It’s technically free but I always leave a tip, because it just feels wrong not to. Usually, I respond to offers for festival mixtapes, album label collections, and the occasional sampler from a band or performer I know or have heard of and want to know more about. The one non-Noisetrade track below is from Spin Magazine’s annual SxSW sampler. Now that I think about it, that may be how Noisetrade got my email address in the first place. Anyway, here are some of my Noisetrade/Spin downloads from the past year:
1. The Way I Am – Ingrid Michaelson
2. Wild Animals – Trampled By Turtles
3. Fine And Mellow – Hurray For The Riff Raff
4. Red Rover – Paper Aeroplanes
5. Just Keep On Rockin’ – Roomful of Blues
6. Waited – Kylie Rae Harris
7. Love Has Come For You – Steve Martin and Edie Brickell
8. Swimmin’ Time – Shovels & Rope
9. Giver – The Suffers
10. All I Want For Christmas Is A New Guitar – Luke Dowler
