I just have two questions regarding this story:
1. Weren’t there any less controversial washed up headbangers to perform at the inaugural? I mean, c’mon, how busy to you think Don Dokken and Greg Giuffria are these days?
2. Did he perform Cat Scratch Fever, and if so, did any of the partygoers require an explanation of the lyrics?
That’s all I got. For more, I refer you to Stace, PinkDome, HouStoned, Eye on Williamson, and TPRS.
UPDATE: And In the Pink.
Pertaining to the first point, I feel obligated to point out that Gregg Giuffria was never to be confused for a “headbanger.” Sure, House of Lords was a decent band and all ….
Be that as it may, he is also more recently an investor in the gambling industry … which I suspect causes more conflicts than Ted Nugent’s celebration of sexually transmitted diseases.
Don Dokken, meanwhile, is in preparations for a greuling 3-city Midwest swing with some fraction of the band that made him famous.
I wondered if he performed “Thunder Thighs” and “My Love is Like a Tire Iron”. Very proper conservative songs. Hehe. I used to like Ted until he went off the Super Repub deepend.
Fight on!
