Feeds, blogrolls, etc

I suppose I should’ve subscribed to my own blog’s feeds from the get-go, but after reading David’s post about Atom, I learned that I don’t have a full-post feed of my own. I’ve created an Atom template, and once I’m sure it’s working I’ll provide a link for it on the sidebar.

Is anyone else having a problem seeing my blogroll? It just won’t display on my work PCs in IE, but I can see it fine at home in Mozilla. I’m rather stumped at this point, so any suggestions are appreciated.

I’ve noticed a string of referrals today from what looks like web mail systems at pitzer.edu and willamette.edu – I’m guessing someone sent an email at those places which contained a link to one of my posts. I can’t see what they’re pointing to, so this has piqued my curiosity. Please drop me a note or leave a comment if you know what this was about.

Finally, one last plug for Bloglines. Notifying me when an infrequently-updated blog has new content is currently my favorite part of using an RSS aggregator. Try it, you’ll like it.

My Blogrolling.com blogroll stopped showing up on my site yesterday. I finally just created hard links for everything, until I figure out a better fix.

And it isn’t showing up on Mozilla or IE for me.

I can see your blogroll (Firefox 0.8/Win2000/Cable Modem) although blogrolling was a little slow to respond.

    I see mixed results:

Firefox 0.8: under “The Blogroll” are three links: bloglines, full blogroll and bloggers i know personally. Then it jumps right to emeriti.

IE 6.0 has these three links followed by the output from the blogrolling rpc statement. While the statement looks right for some reason it doesn’t seem to be displaying in Firefox (and I suspect mozilla).

    Strange……

I see it all in Safari.

I’m really interested in that full feed, and yes, I know I need to do it in my own blog. I haven’t done it to date because of the writing exercises I do.

I’ll still come comment even if I do get a full feed.

  5. Yeah, full feeds do discourage comments. I try to push through it as well.

I thought you said – at one time – that you were moving the blogroll off the main page.

I still see it to the right of the blog. If I make my IE window too narrow, the blogroll moves to the bottom under the blog. NS 7.1 behaves the same way.

    Other than that, no problems.

I probably did say that. I did move the “full” blogroll to a separate page, but I eventually decided that it was better to keep at least some form of the blogroll on the main page. Even though I don’t use it so much for my own reading now, I’m still annoyed that it’s not displaying for me here. At least it’s displaying for some people, so I’m glad for that.

I thought I was the only one having this problem. I used to be able to use my blogroll from blogrolling.com all the time at work. Now I cannot see the links in any browser I try. I called Tech Services, but they say they haven’t done anything different. At home is no problem. What can be the reason? I would really like to know. 🙁
