Not all of Drum’s counties are so rural. Newton is in Beaumont MSA; Callahan in Abilene MSA; Frio is less than 60 miles from San Antonio. And, in NM, Taos has been Californicated.

Drum’s use of data to persuade us that all is well (i.e. not totally gone-to-hell) in rural America isn’t convincing. I randomly chose one of his rural counties, Conecuh County AL and looked around to get clues. Repton appears to be the second-largest community, and a cursory look shows that it’s in the grip of long-term decline. This linked article describes the heroic efforts of the town to reverse this trend line and you have to wish them well, but I wouldn’t describe their situation as anything but dire. https://www.al.com/living/2017/11/post_348.html

“Mueller went on to say that “the Constitution requires a process other than the criminal justice system to formally accuse a sitting president of wrongdoing.” That other process described in the Constitution is impeachment, not an override by the attorney general.”

    Impeach.
