Challenging Harvin Moore in HISD district VII is Anne Sung. Sung would be somewhat of a rarity among trustees in that she has actual classroom teaching experience – seven years in the Rio Grande Valley with Teach For America, as well as experience at Lee High School in Houston where she taught physics and was Teacher of the Year. Currently the Director of Strategic Planning and Public Policy at the Harris County Sheriff’s Department, Sung has degrees in physics and public policy, and has done volunteer work in education as the co-founder of Community Voices for Public Education and as coach of the Texas American Regions Math League team. after some debate, ive decided to produce a piece on the candidate anne sung, ive talked to her several times at west gray, she certainly is passionate about several issues in regards to hisd board member harvin Moore, moore having been on the board scandal free has made some mistakes, however,i am unsure that his human errors call for a full run against him, rather anne sung could have reached out to moore rather than a “take up arms ballot approach”
here are your election night numbers in the race harvin moore 52.% with anne finishing@ 48%
I see the Houston chronicle endorsed harvin moore as well,
